Shelter Dog On Death Row Trembles With Fear And Too Afraid To Walk

"She's seen such a lot evil in only her 1 year of life."


Every dog and cat deserves a loving family and an opportunity at life. Sadly, young and old pets are euthanized at overcrowded shelters thanks to lack of space.

There are many dogs and cats in shelters expecting someone to return in and choose them. However, some are on a clock which is understood as ‘death row’ at shelters. Each of these pets have a particular date that they have to be adopted by or the shelter will euthanize them.

Meet Mocha, a one-year-old Pit bull mix, who was dumped at Rowan County Animal Shelter in Salisbury, North Carolina. She was surrendered with another dog by her heartless owner, through no fault of her own. The shelter set a date of All Saints' Day for Mocha and if she wasn't adopted by then she would be euthanized.

The terrified pup would tremble with fear in her crate and potential adopters would pass her by. She arrived covered in fleas and paralyzed by fear. one among the shelter’s volunteers, Albina Albiie Chanel, wanted to point out Mocha that not all humans are bad. She was heartbroken at the state Mocha was in and wanted to offer her a fighting chance at finding a family.

“You know, a day we affect cruelty and evil done by humans. This sweet girl broke my heart. Owner surrender at that. She may be a skeleton, covered in fleas, she shakes constantly and doesn’t even want to urge up to steer . mention a broken soul. Some days I hate humans such a lot . persevere there Mocha baby. She’s seen such a lot evil in only her 1 year of life,” wrote Albina.

She decided to write down a letter from Mocha and post it on Facebook. It said, “Dear humans,
As I sit here on death house totally defeated, I hope my puppies will a minimum of have a far better life than I did. I sit here, i'm so scared just waiting to be euthanized. You see, i'm only a year old. I haven’t had an honest life in the least ..”

It went on to mention , “I shake such a lot in my kennel that folks just walk past me. I cant help it tho, humans haven’t been nice to me. i'm so skinny but i really like to eat. i attempted to be brave for my pictures today but I couldn’t even really rise up . i attempted tho and that i think the women that were with me knew i used to be trying.. I got brave enough to even take a treat later.”

The heartbreaking letter concluded with, “I was surrendered to the shelter by my owner with my friend.. please consider adopting me and giving me an opportunity at an honest life. But please know i'll take a short time to warm up because I’m with great care scared. you'll find me in kennel #5.
Love,
Mocha”.

The post went viral with thousands of individuals commenting and sharing. Thankfully, a sort person heard about Mocha and visited the shelter to rescue her. Albina updated the post to inform everyone that Mocha and her sister that came in together with her are safe.

Albina wrote her own letter to Mocha after she was rescued. She wrote, “Dear Mocha, I sat with you and wrote a letter for the entire world to ascertain . and that they did. Happy 2nd chance sweet girl. May you finally be loved and brought care of forever .

Best wishes my darling.
I love you and can remember you usually .”


Thank you to whoever rescued Mocha. She is simply one among many who are on death house expecting a loving home. Please consider adopting or fostering, because it is that the only thanks to help end death house at shelters. additionally , spay and neuter your pets. Adopt don’t shop!
