Tiny, 8-week-old border terrier cross found dumped in handbag – with its legs tied together

Stray Rescue of St. Louis stumbled upon a dog with an injured foot. in fact they planned on rescuing, but what they didn’t know was that they were close to rescue much more . 

Soon after rescuing the dog, they noticed that she had milk. That’s once they knew this dog was a replacement mama and had puppies somewhere nearby. Rescuers knew that they had to look for them and act quickly.

They went right to the underbrush where the mama dog was living to ascertain if her pups where there. Rescues pushed branches aside and crawled to bushes until they finally discovered a touch den.

Inside the den, a hole within the ground that was sort of a ‘safe haven,’ weren't just a couple of puppies, but THIRTEEN! Their mama did such an excellent job hiding them to stay them safe and warm.

Rescuers gently placed the puppies into a container one by one before bringing them and their mom back to their rescue. There, they were ready to give the mom and pups the medical aid they needed.

The mom are going to be undergoing surgery on her injured leg, and every one of the puppies are going to be spayed and neutered and eventually put up for adoption once they're sufficiently old .
